Didi Lutz is an internationally acclaimed public relations professional specializing in hospitality, lifestyle, travel and tourism communications.

Didi entered the world of hospitality at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, FL working in Catering and Conference Services. She quickly developed a passion for hospitality because it is one of few industries where you learn to work with people from very diverse backgrounds. Once accepted in the program, she moved to Boston to pursue graduate work at Boston University College of Communication, where she earned a Master’s in Public Relations.

Soon after graduating, Didi accepted a position to be in the opening team of the Hotel Commonwealth, a boutique luxury property in Boston. She rose to Director of Communications within six months after the property’s opening. As the primary media contact, Didi was responsible for obtaining strategic placements for the hotel, and in the first year she established the media relationship that led to worldwide recognition for the property as one of Ten Best New Business Hotels by Forbes.com.

Two years later, the opportunity for Didi to start her own consulting practice presented itself in early 2005. She quickly expanded her client list in New England, working with the historic Century House, the oldest continuously operating inn on Nantucket. She later developed the PR strategy to successfully open the boutique Hotel Providence in Rhode Island’s theatre and entertainment district, along with the property’s restaurant. She also worked on various other destination marketing initiatives, including executing a media relations plan for the Provincetown Office of Tourism in cooperation with a Boston-based public relations agency.

It didn’t take very long for Didi’s reputation to expand in Europe; after all she grew up in Athens, Greece, and is an international traveler. Shortly after her first year of independent practice, she started working with the four-star boutique Hotel Heritage (currently a Relais & Chateaux hotel) in the charming historic city of Bruges in Belgium. She successfully raised brand awareness for the hotel strictly with PR and supported the opening of its fine dining restaurant, Le Mystique. Adding to her European experience, Didi provides PR counsel for the Zacosta Villa Hotel in Rhodes, Greece.

She has also worked on lifestyle consumer campaigns including Snip-its, the fastest growing children’s salon in the nation, which won a Bellringer Award for Best Consumer campaign by the Publicity Club of New England in 2009. Most recently, she was on the launch PR team to introduce the luxurious British cocoa grower and chocolatier, Hotel Chocolat’s brand to the US market.

Didi has been on the Editorial Board of Hotel Executive’s prestigious Hotel Business Review since 2004, where she pens her own column offering PR related advice to hoteliers and hospitality leaders worldwide. She has been a guest speaker at universities, including her alma mater, where she talked to students about independent PR practice and principles.

Didi and her daughter, Anna Sophia, live happily near the beach in their home in Palm Beach, Florida. They enjoy planting herbs and vegetables in their garden and travel together as often as possible.
